Project Overview

Monadnock Community Hospital (MCH) is a nonprofit healthcare organization serving the Monadnock region of New Hampshire for more than 100 years. As part of a lean, creative marketing team, I directed strategic content and communications initiatives that deepened community relationships and elevated the hospital’s trusted reputation for compassionate, high-quality care.

My work integrated creativity with structure—transforming a fast-moving environment into one supported by clear systems, consistent messaging, and measurable outcomes.

My Role

  • Developed cross-channel strategies and content systems to shift the department from reactive to proactive communication.

  • Strengthened brand consistency across campaigns, digital platforms, and internal communications.

  • Led the launch of MCH Connect, a new intranet platform that improved employee access to resources and collaboration.

  • Directed content for community engagement initiatives, including Wellness Wednesday, Giving Tuesday, and the Heartfelt Stories series.

  • Managed digital strategy, website optimization, and e-newsletter communications reaching over 14,000 subscribers.

Results

  • Increased website traffic by 53% year over year through SEO and cornerstone content.

  • Reduced content turnaround time with the development of internal GPT-based automation tools.

  • Produced a monthly newsletter with a 51% open rate and strong community engagement.

  • Improved internal communication and workflow efficiency through structured messaging plans and intranet redesign.

  • Supported philanthropy and outreach through authentic storytelling and integrated campaign design.

Strategy and Systems

My first priority was to build a foundation for sustainable marketing operations. I implemented strategic planning tools, templates, and communication workflows that helped our small team manage hospital-wide initiatives.

This included designing communication plans for intranet and campaign launches, leading vendor research and comparison for digital platforms, and developing consistent internal messaging frameworks. These systems created alignment across departments while maintaining the hospital’s compassionate, factual brand voice.

Community Campaigns

From awareness initiatives to long-form storytelling, each campaign was crafted to connect the hospital’s mission with the lives of local residents.

  • Heartfelt Stories showcased patients, staff, and volunteers whose experiences reflect the hospital’s values of compassion and community.

  • Giving Tuesday aligned philanthropy with MCH’s century-long legacy, reminding supporters that “your hospital is here because of you.”

  • Community Spotlight featured local partners like The River Center, reinforcing collaboration as central to community well-being.

  • The Your Hospital e-newsletter delivered health updates, seasonal resources, and inspiring local stories each month.

Education and Awareness

Health education content was re-envisioned through accessible, visually unified campaigns. Series such as Wellness Wednesdays and staff recognition posts (including World Pharmacist Day) shared actionable health tips and honored the professionals behind the hospital’s care.

Creative initiatives like the Healing Arts Gallery promoted art and wellness within the hospital environment, connecting care to creativity and emotional healing.

Brand Integration

As part of system-wide consistency, I also guided sub-brand and service line communications:

  • Monadnock Orthopaedic Associates (MOA) brand refresh and strategic overview.

  • Community Health Needs and Benefits pages emphasizing transparency and community investment.

  • Career Opportunities content and visuals that positioned MCH as both an employer and a cornerstone of the region.

Together, these projects established a cohesive message that supports both patient trust and organizational growth.

Legacy and Reflection

Working at Monadnock Community Hospital has been both grounding and transformative. Every project reinforced the idea that marketing in healthcare is not about promotion, but about connection.

Through this work, I helped the hospital honor its century-long history, modernize its communications, and build systems that ensure its mission continues: improving the health and well-being of our community.
