Peterborough United Methodist Church (2016–2023)

Role: Communications Director & Church Administrator
Scope: Digital strategy, brand consistency, website management, event promotion, and donor-facing communication.

Overview

Peterborough United Methodist Church is a longstanding congregation rooted in community, service, and inclusive spiritual connection. Over seven years, I supported the church through a full communications transformation — shaping brand identity, strengthening internal and external messaging, and creating digital systems that helped the congregation communicate with clarity and warmth.

What I Led

Brand & Communication Systems

  • Built a unified brand system, including newsletters, event materials, seasonal campaigns, and annual reports.
  • Maintained consistent voice and tone across print, email, and web.
  • Developed templates and workflows the church continues to use.

Website & Digital Presence

  • Managed web content and user experience to support community visibility.
  • Increased website visits by 63 percent and social engagement by 48 percent.
  • Made navigation easier for newcomers, members, and ministry leaders.

Event & Community Engagement

  • Supported promotion for services, holiday events, workshops, and outreach activities.
  • Strengthened donor and volunteer communication through accessible storytelling.

Design & Brand Work

Visual assets included weekly newsletters, worship materials, annual reports, and more. These materials made planning, worship, and communication more structured and welcoming.

Reflection

This project taught me how to balance faith-based storytelling with modern, accessible design systems. The work focused on clarity, connection, and gentle narrative guidance — helping people feel more at home in their church community.
